The Lost Food Project education & outreach activities aim to promote understanding and awareness about food waste and how we, as individuals, as organisations and as a community as a whole can act to reduce food waste and in turn, hunger in Malaysia.
Our activities include education workshops with students in schools and universities; going beyond the classroom to educating families and the wider community; and working with key partners in industry and education to raise awareness of this important environmental issue.
We all waste food every day and by wasting food we waste precious energy, land and water. If we reduce food waste, fewer people in the world will go hungry, it will mean less habitats need to be cleared for crops, and climate change will slow down. We can all make a big difference by making small changes to our lifestyle.
Feed the hungry not the landfill.
The Lost Food Project team regularly delivers workshops and presentations to organisations wishing to learn more about the issue of food over production and food waste. Our team will share the latest statistics on food waste in Malaysia and globally, they will explain the cause of food waste and the effects this is having on our environment.
We are available to visit students and staff in schools and universities in KL to present the issues of food waste. Contact our Education team to info@thelostfoodproject.org if you would like to arrange a visit.
The Lost Food Project attends many markets and bazaars throughout the year to increase awareness of food waste and encourage support from the general public. Thank you to the many societies, schools and universities that allow us to take up space at these events.
